SURNAMES: BATES, DOLLY, WIMMER

L. V. WIMMER is a native of Pickaway county, Ohio, was born August 5th, 1847. His father, John WIMMER, was a native Ohioan, and his mother, whose maiden name was Sarah A. DOLLY, was a native of Delaware. In early life, Mr. Wimmer like the majority of our most enterprising citizens, labored upon the farm, securing during the time a fair common-schoo1 education. His chief delight was in cultivating the growing crops. In 1865, Mr. Wimmer removed to Crittenden township, and upon the first day of September, 1869, was united in marriage to Mary E. BATES, daughter of Benjamin BATES, of the above township. Immediately after the marriage, this industrious couple began house-keeping, upon a farm he had previously purchased, west of Bouse's Grove. After residing there about three years, they moved south of the Grove, until about two years since, when they came to where they still reside. Four sweet children have come to brighten the fireside: Mary, who is eight, Flora, six, Frankie, four, and Willie, two years of age. Mr. Wimmer and wife have a nice little home, to which they are making constant additions. Mr. Wimmer, in politics, is a Republican.
