This map was drawn in 1958 by Harmon Mason Corray, born 8 Nov 1862, Urbana, Champaign Co, IL and died 11 Feb 1965, Urbana, Champaign Co, IL - age 102. It shows the location of early settlers of the Big Grove - one of the first settlements in Champaign County. It also indicates the location of the first murder in Champaign County committed by William Weaver, who was defended by Abraham Lincoln (click on this link to find out more about the murder trial).
