Survivors: his wife, two sons, Raymond of Sidney and Melvin of Urbana; two daughters Mrs. Clayborn (Irene) Lofton and Mrs. Hervin (Arlene) Buhr, both of Champaign; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Gilbert and Alfred, both of Huntingburg, Ind.; and four sisters, Helen Rademacher of Holland, Ind., Mildred Welp of Huntingburg, Ind., Ardella Meyer of Mayfield, Ky. and Flora Phillipy of Jasper, Ind. Mr. Schartz was preceded in death by four brothers.
