SAMUEL LOVE. Son of James and Jane LOVE, was born in Donegal county, Ireland, June 23d, 1796. In the year 1819, at the age of twenty-two years, he emigrated to America and settled in Pennsylvania, where he remained for three years. Thinking to better his fortune he removed to Muskingum county, Ohio. From thence he removed to Coshocton county, Ohio, where he made the acquaintance of Miss Deborah MITCHELL, to whom he was married in December, 1839, and by whom he had six sons and one daughter, five of whom are still living.

He taught school in all of the above places. During his residence in Coshocton county, Ohio, he was engaged in the milling and distilling business. In 1852, he emigrated with his family to Champaign county, Illinois, and entered and settled on a piece of land in Sidney township, where he resided until the day of his death, which occurred on the l7th day of January, 1873, in the 77th year of his age. His estimable wife and children still occupy the old homestead.
