I am looking for information on John JAMES, who lived in Champaign Co. IL. in 1886. He was the father of my grandfather George Franklin JAMES, b. 27 Nov. 1886, St. Joseph, IL. His mother Jessie E. BISHOP & Mr. JAMES seperated when George was small. His mother took George back to Chester, Thayer Co. NE./ Republic Co. KS., where his grandmother raised him. I found John JAMES listed under George's father's name in the Family Bible. His second son was named John Donald JAMES. On his Death Certificate his father's name was listed as John JAMES, mother unknown,[by 2nd wife, the 1st wife & children knew his mothers name]. On the 1910 Spokane Co. WA. Census, he listed his father as being born in Eurbana, IL. Geo. was about 5'6"-7", stout, light brown hair & blue eyes. John may have remarried after Jessie & George left. Can anyone help me with this JAMES?
