MRS. COOK, 78, DIES; SERVICES SUNDAY
Mrs. Celia Cook, 78, 1105 West Church Street, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday at Mercy Hospital where she had been a patient for the past month. She had been in failing health for the last two years. Mrs. Cook was born Celia L. Harvey, at Mahomet in 1864. She married A.C. Cook, who died in 1924. Three children were born to them, two of whom have preceeded her in death. W. Frank Cook and John Harvey Cook. Mrs. Cook leaves a daughter, Mrs. Daisie Dean Cook Bailey, wife of C. W. Bailey, Chicago, former Champaign residents. Mrs. Bailey has been with her mother here for the past three weeks. Mrs. Cook also leaves seven grandchildren: John Dwight Cook, Springfield; Barbara Cook Powell, Wood River; Janetbeth Bailey McBride, Long Island, N.Y.; Robert D. Bailey, Peoria and Celia Cook Smith, Tolono. She also leaves three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday from the Mittendorf chapel with Doctor H. Clifford Northcott, pastor of the First Methodist church officiating. Burial well be in Woodlawn cemetery.
