J. W. Boyd Dead. End Came Yesterday Morning at 10:45 — Funeral to be Held Tuesday

James Walter Boyd, better known as Walter Boyd, died yesterday morning at 10:45 at his home, 707 West Springfield avenue. He had not enjoyed good health for over a year and for the past three months had been bedfast. For several weeks his condition was very critical and the announcement of his death caused but little surprise as almost everyone knew his disease would terminate fatally. Tuberculosos of the stomach and bowels caused his death.

Mr. Boyd was born at the corner of First Street and University Avenue in Champaign, July 15, 1890 and with his parents came to Urbana in 1881 and since that time had resided here. His father, the late John W. Boyd, died about a year ago. Besides a mother, Mr. Boyd is survived by three brothers and three sisters.

The deceased was a member of the Home Forum Safety Fund association carrying a policy of $2,000. He was also a member of Co. M. I. N. G. and at the last encampment held at Springfield was highly honored. Almost everyone in Urbana knew Walter Boyd and all who knew him liked him for he had a very pleasing way that made him agreeable. Since leaving school he has always been connected with one of Urbana's leading business houses and had been a clerk at C. F. Gensel's grocery from the time the store was started until he was compelled to give up his position on account of failing health.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the First M. E. church, Rev. J. w. Miller having charge of the services. The service will be in charge of Company M and the deceased will be given the burial of a soldier. The Home Forum lodge will attend and will probably give their burial service at the church. The remains will find a last resting place at Mt. Hope cemetery.
